Reports summarise the accounts and transactions in the selected portfolio. When a figure looks wrong, first confirm the portfolio and filters, then correct the source data rather than trying to adjust the chart.

Spending insights

Open Cashflow → Insights and choose a spending view. Use the available controls to select the date range and grouping.

Common groupings include:

  • category or category group;
  • payee;
  • tag; and
  • account.

Start with a broad period, then narrow it to investigate a change. Open the underlying transactions where the interface provides that route.

Transfers between your own accounts should not be treated as ordinary spending. Large uncategorised totals are a sign that transaction cleanup is still needed.

Net worth

Net worth is the value of tracked assets minus tracked liabilities. The report can show the current position and how it changes over time.

Check that:

  • cash, investments, and physical assets use an asset group;
  • loans and credit balances use a debt group;
  • currencies and valuations are current; and
  • the same real account has not been added twice.

Market prices, exchange rates, manual valuations, and connection timing can all affect the shape of the history.

Investigate an unexpected result

  1. Match the report period and filters to the question you are asking.
  2. Confirm that the intended portfolio is selected.
  3. Identify the category, account, or date where the change appears.
  4. Open the underlying records.
  5. Correct duplicates, signs, transfers, categories, or balances.
  6. Return to the report and confirm the result.

Common problems

  • Pending and settled versions of the same bank transaction can temporarily coexist.
  • A debt entered as an asset reverses its effect on net worth.
  • Missing historical balances limit what an earlier net-worth period can show.
  • Filters can make a correct total look incomplete.
