Bank data can be delayed by provider maintenance, consent expiry, institution availability, or an account being outside the current connection coverage. Work through these checks in order.

Check the connection state

Open Settings → Data → Connections and find the institution. Note the visible status and the time of the last successful update.

Common states indicate:

  • the connection is active and waiting for provider data;
  • login or renewed consent is required;
  • an update is already in progress;
  • one account is no longer covered; or
  • the provider returned an error.

Use the action shown for the current state rather than creating a second connection.

Compare the affected account

Open the account in Plutus and compare:

  • the current balance;
  • the date of the latest imported transaction;
  • whether the missing transaction is still pending at the bank; and
  • whether other accounts on the same connection are updating.

This distinguishes an institution-wide problem from one account or one transaction.

When Plutus asks for login or consent:

  1. start Reconnect from the existing connection;
  2. complete the bank’s authorisation;
  3. include the existing accounts you still want to sync;
  4. return to Plutus; and
  5. allow the follow-up sync to finish.

Starting from the existing connection helps preserve account matching and history.

Avoid duplicates while waiting

Do not create a manual account or re-import the same date range while troubleshooting an active connection. If an urgent transaction is missing, note it outside Plutus until you know whether the provider will deliver it.

When to contact support

Contact support@plutusfinance.app when:

  • reconnection repeatedly fails after bank authorisation;
  • the connection is active but no accounts are covered;
  • the same real account appears twice;
  • an error remains for more than one normal provider update cycle; or
  • balances and transactions disagree persistently.

Include the institution name, affected account nickname, approximate time, and visible error. Do not send credentials, recovery codes, or full account numbers.
