Members can work with the same portfolios, accounts, transactions, budgets, and reports. Only invite people you trust with that financial information.

Open Members & access

  1. Open Settings.
  2. In the Account section, select Members & access.

The page shows pending invitations first, followed by everyone who currently has access. Additional members require a subscription that supports them, and the current plan controls the available member limit.

Invite a member

Owners can send invitations:

  1. Select Invite member.
  2. Enter the person’s name and email address.
  3. Select Send invitation.

New invitations use the Member role. The recipient should accept using the email address that was invited. Plutus does not display an internal account or organisation name in the invitation.

The invitation remains under Pending invites until it is accepted, cancelled, or expires. You can copy its invite link when you want to send it through another trusted channel.

Manage a pending invitation

From Pending invites, the owner can:

  • copy the invitation link; or
  • cancel an invitation that should no longer be used.

Check the email address before resending. If the same person is already pending, use the existing invitation rather than creating another one.

Understand member roles

  • Owner controls the Plutus account, subscription, and sensitive account-level actions.
  • Member can use the shared financial information without owner-level control.

New invitations use the Member role. The Owner role belongs to the person who controls the Plutus account.

Remove access or leave

The owner can remove another member from Members & access. This permanently deletes that person’s Plutus account and bank-connected data. Other information they added is transferred to the owner.

A non-owner can select Leave to permanently delete their own Plutus account, remove their shared access, and apply the same data-handling process. These actions cannot be undone.

Before the owner can close the Plutus account, they must:

  • remove every additional member; and
  • cancel every pending invitation.

Plutus blocks account closure until both conditions are met, preventing another person’s access or account from being deleted silently.

Confirm the result

An accepted invitation moves from Pending invites to Members & access. The new member can sign in and see the shared financial information available to the account.

After cancellation, removal, or leaving, refresh the page and confirm that the person or invitation no longer appears.

Common problems

  • An invitation must use an email address that is not already attached to another active Plutus account.
  • If the member limit has been reached, review the current plan under Settings → Billing → Subscription.
  • If an invite link has expired, cancel the old invitation and create a new one.
  • If an expected action is unavailable, check whether you are the Owner or a Member.
