Filters help you answer a specific question before making changes. Start narrow, confirm the result set, and only then use bulk actions.
Search transactions
Use the transaction search field for text such as a payee, description, or reference. Search works best with a distinctive part of the text rather than a long copied statement line.
Apply filters
Combine the available filters to narrow the list:
- date range;
- account;
- category or category group;
- payee;
- tag;
- amount or direction; and
- transaction status.
The active filter controls show why a transaction is included. Reset filters when a result seems to be missing.
Select several transactions
- Filter until the list contains the intended entries.
- Select individual rows or the visible result set.
- Review the selection count.
- Choose the relevant bulk action.
- Confirm the change.
Bulk actions are useful for categories, tags, payee cleanup, and review status. Avoid broad date ranges when several kinds of transaction share the same description.
Confirm the result
Leave the filters applied after the update and scan the changed rows. Then clear filters and search for one known entry to confirm it remains accessible.
Common problems
- A hidden date or account filter is the usual reason a transaction seems missing.
- “Select all” may apply to the filtered result, not only the rows currently visible.
- Undo or correct a mistaken bulk change before creating rules based on the altered data.
